Autodesk gave, Autodesk took.

Not surprised – this had such archaic UX,
Check the blender asset manager for a good example of UX asset manager done correctly.

agreed, these dudes have no idea what they are doing, they look and act so pathetic, I said 5 years and max will be as “mudbox”, but now I am thinking 2-3 years

I just want to look at the eyes of that autodesk manager who says let’s create library manager, let’s screw mudbox, let’s buy bitsquid then rename as stingray then kill it, let’s create horrible splash screens and keep it like 10 years or more, let’s kill old good iconic logos and put disgusting icons, etc, etc

I just want to hear AD manager in the next several years: “let’s do how Corel with Painter did, put 3DS Max on Humble Bundle”. This is what happens when management takes jobs developers should have.

Very happy to hear that there is someone else out here who hates the new icons and interface… one of the main reasons ( apart from subscription) why I stayed and will forever stay with Max 2016

Assetmanager? Don´t use it. But: The Dependency Manager can re-path multiple 3ds Max file dependencies at once across many folders.

Don’t know anyone who ever used this, this thing never took really off. Was just a meager attempt to do the same as anyone else was trying to do. I think the main initiator for this AD effort was Connecter ( https://www.designconnected.com/connecter ) which indeed is a real great tool

No problem. Blender´s new asset library is far ahead.

Max 2023 It seems that the company is working with 300 people during the night to make the Max logo, and there will be no news of a Versat update.

What did you expect from this sh!t company.
I bet Autodesk will abandon 3dsmax in a few years anyway. They prove year after year they don’t give a fu3k… Maybe they will keep Maya on life support for a bit then, when competition will be ahead and too cheap, they will give it away to a studio that will slowly abandon it because the technical debt and rnd cost are way too high.

totally agree, well said

not surprised, it wasn’t good and there are plenty better alternatives (Connecter, Project manager)
